Kids’Stop

Kids’ Stop is an after-school care programme for students enrolled in the Primary School at EIS.

Kids’ Stop is a dedicated children’s space with various organized and free play activities, both indoors and outdoors.

We focus on creating a space to play, explore, challenge themselves and become independent with good friends across different year groups. It is important that the children bring/wear clothes fit for all kinds of weather, as we will be outside every day.

A typical day in Kids’ Stop often begins with outdoor playtime, followed by optional activities such as sports, crafts, and imaginary play. We prioritize outdoor playtime, either in the schoolyard or on the Early Years playground. The outdoors allows the children to get fresh air and stretch their legs after a long school day, contributing to their physical and mental well-being.

We believe it is pedagogically important for children to have the opportunity to develop their own initiative and tune into their interests after a long day at school. Therefore, we create zones where children can choose where they want to spend their time. The three zones are: 1. Kids Stop Building, 2. Outside Playground, and 3. The Gym. Children sign up for the different zones via Tabulex, actively participating in planning their own afternoon.

PYP1 students go to Kids’ Stop 14:00. They decide which activities they want to join. An adult will be present to meet the children coming from school and assist them.

On Fridays, we sometimes offer movie day as an extra activity.

We encourage parents to use Tabulex to inform us if a child is being picked up by someone other than the parents, if they are being picked up by a taxi, or if they are walking home by themselves. This creates good security as everyone is updated. Kids’ Stop staff also expect parents and children to say goodbye and sign out of Tabulex before leaving Kids Stop.

Kids Stop is open from 7:00 – 8:00 and then from 14:00 – 16:30.
