About us
Esbjerg International School offers a high quality international educational experience for students from ages 3 to 16. EIS values each student’s unique qualities and talents, developing the whole person through individualized learning.
Our learning programme is based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) system of education. This has an excellent reputation around the world as a rigorous and holistic programme. Our educational philosophy supports inquiry-based, student-centred learning. We want to empower our students, first by providing a safe, friendly learning environment and then by building their self-advocacy and sense of being independent, active learners.
HISTORY
Esbjerg International School started in August 2008 via sponsorship between the local municipal government (Esbjerg Kommune), the local business community (Esbjerg Erhvervsudvikling) and a local Danish private school (Esbjerg Realskole). Their collaboration was based on a significant need for the business community to attract expatriate workers with children needing international schooling. By international standards, the school’s tuition fees are very competitive due to the generous state subsidy received by EIS.

We work in partnership with parents recognising the important role that families play in the education of their children. Our goal is to inspire all students to exceed their own expectations in becoming confident, creative, and compassionate lifelong learners.
As an international community, we celebrate diversity and place great emphasis on inclusion. New families are warmly welcomed and carefully supported to integrate quickly into the school community. There is a myriad of opportunities to become involved through our volunteer programmes and an extensive sports and activities programme.
